You're invited to an inspirational journey where art meets activism with Muskoka author and artist Wendie Donabie, as we celebrate her book Views from the Edge of the Earth published in June 2024. The book is a powerful blend of the author’s poetry, images of her original paintings, and photography that speaks to the beauty of our planet and the urgency to protect it.
Wendie will share the inspiration for her book, her journey to publication and a selection of her moving poems that capture the essence of Earth’s fragile beauty and the deep concern for its future.
You have the option to purchase a signed copy of the book, and a percentage of all sales supports the Aspen Valley Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, helping to protect and rehabilitate the creatures that call our planet home.
As a writer, Wendie Donabie enjoys painting pictures with words and flavoring her poetry and prose with alliteration, similes, and metaphors. When words won’t do the job, she turns to her easel and a fresh canvas. Her short stories and poetry have been published in magazines and in poetry and literary collections, and her short essay, Mother Earth, won gold in Art Ascent Magazine.
Currently Wendie is working on a double murder mystery set in a fictional region that looks and feels much like Muskoka. Find out more about her on her website.
